Privacy Policy

Quiver is an iOS app that lets you catalog the bikes you own: the frame, every component and its specs, what you paid, and your own notes. This policy explains what information Quiver collects, how it is used, and the controls you have. We keep it short and plain on purpose.

Who we are

Quiver is the data controller for the information described here. You can reach us any time at [email protected].

What we collect

How we use your information

Describing a bike or part

When you describe a bike or a part in plain words (for example, “2023 Santa Cruz Hightower, size large”), the text you type is processed by a trusted AI provider for the sole purpose of matching it against our own bike and parts catalog. It is never used to invent specs, and it is not used to train AI models. You can use this feature before creating an account; the bike you build is saved to your garage only when you sign in.

Improving the catalog (optional)

Quiver maintains a shared catalog of bike and component specifications. If you turn on “Improve the catalog” in Settings, we may use the spec confirmations and corrections you make to improve that shared catalog. This shares anonymous spec data only, never your prices, photos, notes, or location. You can turn this off at any time.

Forwarding receipts (optional)

Quiver gives you a personal forwarding address so you can email a bike or part receipt and have it added to your garage automatically. When you use it, the email's text is processed by a trusted AI provider for the sole purpose of extracting the purchase details (item, brand, store, price, and date). We then store only those extracted details and the email's subject line, linked to your account. We do not keep the raw email. Mail you send to that address that is not a receipt is simply passed back to you and is not stored. This feature is entirely optional.

What we share

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not show third-party ads. We use a small number of trusted service providers to run Quiver: for app hosting and our database, for App Store purchase and entitlement management, for the app and website analytics and crash diagnostics described above, for routing the receipts you choose to forward, and for the AI processing that reads those receipts and matches the bike and part descriptions you type against our catalog. They process your data only to provide their service to us, under agreements that limit how they may use it. We may also disclose information if required by law.

Data retention & deletion

We keep your data for as long as you have an account. You can permanently delete your account and all of your data from inside the app: open the Account screen and tap Delete account. This is an immediate, irreversible hard delete of your account and every bike, part, cost, note, and forwarded receipt you have saved. You can also email us to request deletion. Apple and our purchase provider may retain transaction records where required for refunds, fraud prevention, tax, accounting, or other legal obligations.

Security

Your data is transmitted over encrypted connections and stored with reputable cloud providers. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information and limit who can access it.

Children

Quiver is not directed to children and is not intended for use by anyone under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

International users

Your information may be processed in countries other than where you live. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for any such transfers.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information. You can exercise most of these directly in the app, or contact us at [email protected] and we will help.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app.
