Privacy Policy
Last updated: 28 June 2026
Quiver is an iOS app that lets you catalog the bikes you own — the frame, every component and its specs, what you paid, and your own notes. This policy explains what information Quiver collects, how it is used, and the controls you have. We keep it short and plain on purpose.
Who we are
Quiver is the data controller for the information described here. You can reach us any time at [email protected].
What we collect
- Account. You sign in with Apple. We receive a private Apple identifier and, if you choose to share it, your email address and name. You can set a display name and an optional location (e.g. a city) yourself.
- Your bikes. The content you add — bikes, components, the specs you confirm or correct, what you paid, purchase sources, photos, and your tuning and fit notes.
- App usage & diagnostics. Basic, privacy-respecting analytics about how the app is used (for example, which screens are opened) and technical logs that help us find and fix crashes. This helps us improve the app; it is not used to advertise to you.
How we use your information
- To provide the app: store your quiver, sign you in, and sync your data to your account.
- To operate and improve the app, fix problems, and prevent abuse.
- To communicate with you about your account or important changes to the service.
Improving the catalog (optional)
Quiver maintains a shared catalog of bike and component specifications. If you turn on “Improve the catalog” in Settings, we may use the spec confirmations and corrections you make to improve that shared catalog. This shares anonymous spec data only — never your prices, photos, notes, or location. You can turn this off at any time.
What we share
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not show third-party ads. We use a small number of trusted service providers to run Quiver — for app hosting and our database, and for the analytics and crash diagnostics described above. They process data only to provide their service to us. We may also disclose information if required by law.
Data retention & deletion
We keep your data for as long as you have an account. You can permanently delete your account and all of your data from inside the app: open the Account screen and tap Delete account. This is an immediate, irreversible hard delete of your account and every bike, part, cost, and note you have saved. You can also email us to request deletion.
Security
Your data is transmitted over encrypted connections and stored with reputable cloud providers. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information and limit who can access it.
Children
Quiver is not directed to children and is not intended for use by anyone under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
International users
Your information may be processed in countries other than where you live. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for any such transfers.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information. You can exercise most of these directly in the app, or contact us at [email protected] and we will help.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app.
